BIZIRIK
Research residences
Design and innovation for the development of new uses with local waste will be the focus of the project. The main objective of these ‘Biodesign Research Residencies’ is to develop new sustainable products, new materials as a way to transform, revalue and unite rural and urban lifestyles by using local raw materials.
During their work period, residents will benefit from intensive production and/or research time, enriched by the exchange of ideas and experiences of the centre's team. The residencies offer a trained professional team and a unique bio-themed infrastructure, providing support to each resident.

Selected within the European programme S+ T+ ARTS EU - MUSAE
On 18 September, we started in Milan our participation in the European programme S+T+ARTS - MUSAE, an initiative that promotes the integration of art, technology and well-being in innovative projects. During three productive days, we worked together with other actors in the sector, with the support of Daniela Amandolese, whose experience will be key to the progress of the project.
For further inspiration, we took the opportunity to visit the facilities of MOGU, a pioneering company in the creation of acoustic panels made from mushroom mycelium and recycled textile waste. We thank Serena Camere and her team for sharing their innovative working process, which has left us full of new ideas.
Visit to the MOGU facilities
On 18 September we landed in Milan to start a new project. Our first stop was to visit the facilities of MOGU, a pioneering company in creating acoustic panels made entirely from mushroom mycelium and recycled textile waste.
We would like to thank Serena Camere and her team for opening their doors to us and sharing their innovative work process, a visit that left us full of ideas!

ZAINZURIAK nominated at ISOLA DESIGN AWARDS
ZAINZURIAK, a project by Amelie Traub, an industrial design student, has been nominated in the ‘New Materials’ category of the ISOLA DESIGN AWARDS.
Amelie developed this bio-based material from asparagus waste during her internship at our facilities.
Biodesign is making inroads around the world. It unites design, biotechnology and innovation to reinvent a more sustainable and thoughtful future. We seek to be that space where future design professionals will be born.
