BDC RESIDENCIES

The Basque Biodesign Center's residency programme promotes projects that combine technology, biodesign, graphics, textile design, digital fabrication and new media. It seeks to explore their hybridisations and promote research and production through collaborative residencies.

The residencies focus on imagining future scenarios linked to the bioeconomy, encouraging the creation of concepts and prototypes. Residents have access to the centre's tools and machinery, with technical and teaching support to develop their projects.

In addition, the programme incorporates the BDC Model, which includes training, mentoring and a residency space where participants can experiment and materialise their ideas.

Culture Moves Europe

Third call for individual mobility of artists and cultural professionals until 30 Nov 2024. If you would like the Basque Biodesign Center to be your international partner for your artistic residency project, do not hesitate to contact us.

BIZIRIK
Research residencies

We present a two-month research residency programme for emerging creators at our facilities. Design and innovation for the development of new uses with local waste will be the focus of the project. The main objective of this ‘Biodesign Research Residency’ is to develop new sustainable products, new materials as a way to transform, revalue and unite rural and urban lifestyles using local raw materials.

TINTA
Artistic residencies

Within the Print Lab's engraving and printing workshop, different artists will be welcomed throughout the year to develop their residency.

During this period, they will be able to use the different tools and facilities offered by the centre, in order to achieve a project where different techniques and disciplines converge.

BILBE
Digital Looms Residencies

The BDC's Bilbe | Digital Looms Residency programme is launched as a platform for textile creation and production, generating a nexus between the different artistic, technological and sustainable practices that promote and produce it.

This residency aims to promote the exchange and connection between innovation, new technologies and ancestral and artisanal textile practices from a circular economy approach and the use of local resources.
